An RBC licensing subcommittee meeting on Tuesday, June 8th granted Queen Anne’s School in the Henley Road a license permitting music, alcohol and outdoor dancing at the school – but limiting the license with conditions to just 25 such events a year. The granting of the license was despite protests from local residents in the Grosvenor and Derby Roads. The school’s bursar, Ed Hellings, said: “We’ve no intention of a Led Zeppelin Concert… …at Queen Anne’s. Over my dead body!” Despite the logistics of getting the remnants of Zep to play at Queen Anne’s, we think this attitude is a tad small-minded.
