Local Photos - Balmore Walk

Scene of much blood-letting during the Civil War, and much dog-walking in more recent times. There are good views from up here and if you're trying to walk from the Rotherfield Way end of Caversham down to the other end (or back), it's far preferable than going along Hemdean Road. It's also easy to incorporate into circular strolls around Caversham of varying lengths. Indeed, if you bear in mind the entrance to Balmore Walk at the top of Balmore Drive, there's a reasonable circular walk to be had just going in and out of the park's various entrances. (You can access it from Balmore Drive, two different spots on Rotherfield Way, two places along Hemdean Road, from Peppard Road above the Prince of Wales and from 'The Ridgeway' (off Newlands Ave / Berrylands Rd).)
