Local Places - Mapledurham Mill & Church

A lengthier but worthwhile walk from Caversham (just head off along The Warren and keep going), Mapledurham Mill and the nearby church both have claims to fame. The majority of photos on this page were taken during a nanosecond between heavy rain showers in mid July 2007. The two darker 'atmospheric' shots near the bottom were taken in August 2006. Also on this page is a photo taken from the front cover of the first Black Sabbath album - released in early 1970, and with Mapledurham Mill clearly visible behind the comely young lady in black (with eyes of fire!). As we mention on our 'Things To Do/Further Afield' page, St Margaret's featured in the 1976 film of 'The Eagle has Landed', with Michael Caine among the stars.
