Local Photos - View Island

You could be forgiven for not knowing View Island exists - it's best reached by the footbridge from the Thames Path in Hills Meadow. (Hill's Meadow being the area to the east of Reading Bridge - the bit where they often have a fair/circus.) It features chain-saw carved sculptures and is just generally worth a visit. It used to be a boatyard (which fell derelict) and was only given over to public use after restoration work beginning in 1998.
